About our Fire Risk Assessment

Blue Reactive Maintenance can survey your property to identify and assess potential fire hazards. We will then compile a comprehensive written fire risk assessment report that highlights any risks and provides recommendations for making your premises safe. Our report follows the guidance and approach recommended in the PAS 79 document, a public standard developed and published by the British Standards Institution (BSI). After we have provided you with your fire risk assessment visit and report, we will offer further advice and recommendations.

Also, if you are a landlord, we offer a Fire Risk Assessment for Flats or an Office Fire Safety Assessment.

Under current fire safety legislation, all non-domestic properties, including public and commercial premises, must have a fire risk assessment. This includes schools, warehouses, factories, licensed premises, nursing homes, care homes, offices, retail outlets, businesses that provide sleeping accommodation, sheltered housing, and the communal areas of blocks of flats and houses in multiple occupations (HMOs).

If you are responsible for a non-domestic property, you must identify and assess the fire hazards present and make arrangements to reduce or eliminate those risks. A written fire risk assessment is required if you employ five or more people.

How is it carried out?

Our fire risk assessment process consists of the following steps:

  1. Identify fire hazards: We identify all sources of ignition, combustible materials, and potential routes for fire spread in the building or workplace.
  2. Identify people at risk: We identify all employees, visitors, and other occupants of the building who may be at risk from fire hazards.
  3. Assess risks: We assess the likelihood of a fire starting and spreading, and the potential consequences of a fire if one does occur.
  4. Implement risk reduction measures: We implement measures to reduce the risks to people and property, such as removing or reducing fire hazards, or implementing fire safety measures such as fire alarms, fire extinguishers, and smoke detectors.
  5. Review and update regularly: We review and update the fire risk assessment regularly to ensure that it remains accurate and up-to-date, and to take into account any changes to the building or workplace.
